A significant milestone in international educational cooperation was recently marked by the official launch of the world's first telc-SIS Academy. The event, hosted by the Education Development Fund Egypt under the auspices of the Egyptian Cabinet, underscores the high political and social relevance of this project.
Among the high-ranking guests were representatives of telc GmbH, led by Bruno Carlesso, and a delegation from the Saxon Parliament headed by Peter Oliver Fritzsche, accompanied by other members of parliament. The event was complemented by the teams from SIS Germany and SIS Middle East.
The opening ceremony focused on the clear objective of creating an innovative language and education platform that combines international standards with regional needs. The telc-SIS Academy sees itself as a strategic interface between education, business, and cultural exchange. The project's relevance is underscored by the rapidly growing demand for German language skills in Egypt and an increasing need for qualified professionals in German-speaking countries.
The academy will offer language courses in German, English, and Spanish – all with internationally recognized telc certificates from A1 to C2. Furthermore, there will be a special focus on job-specific German courses and targeted preparation for university studies and the job market in Germany. In close cooperation with partner institutions such as Saxony Egypt University, programs for university preparation, academic exchange, and professional development will also be implemented.
The overwhelming response to the opening – both through the active participation of state institutions and media coverage by Egyptian news channels – impressively demonstrates the project's importance for the German-Egyptian educational landscape. At the same time, the academy opens up new perspectives for young people in Egypt by outlining concrete educational and career paths within an international context.
With a clear vision for the future, the telc-SIS Academy is committed to continuously expanding its offerings and establishing itself in the long term as a central hub for language qualification, intercultural exchange, and professional integration. In doing so, it makes a sustainable contribution to international networking and the targeted development of qualified professionals.
